What makes someone a leader?
Back in March, Laura & I had the pleas­ure to take part in a great Train­ing Course called “Level Up Your Lead­er­ship!” in Szeged, Hun­gary …and today we can keep find­ing as­pects to re­flect on what lead­er­ship means.
Dur­ing a week’s time period, we col­lab­or­ated & lived to­gether with won­der­ful people from Croa­tia🇭🇷, Cyprus 🇨🇾 , Greece 🇬🇷, Hun­gary 🇹🇯 , Italy 🇮🇹, Latvia 🇱🇻, North Mace­do­nia🇲🇰, Spain 🇪🇸 , Por­tugal 🇵🇹 and we ourselves rep­res­en­ted a multi-cul­tural Den­mark🇩🇰.

We dis­cussed what roles are im­port­ant in a team apart from a leader. Through ex­er­cises we dis­covered how each one of us tends to take a par­tic­u­lar role in a team, what kind of lead­er­ship styles there are and how to re­cog­nize our own lead­er­ship style. We also learned about gami­fic­a­tion and most in­triguingly about LARP(Live Ac­tion Role Play­ing).… a really in­tense week!!
One im­port­ant take-away is that LARP is (sadly *in­ternal joke*) not only about dress­ing up as a fantasy char­ac­ter for a fun ex­per­i­ence in the woods.

It has also the po­ten­tial to be used for cre­at­ing en­vir­on­ments which sup­port in­di­vidual de­vel­op­ment. You can also play a dir­ector, or even your own boss! al­low­ing you to have a full-body ex­per­i­ence of what it really means to have such roles.

To share our ex­per­i­ences, we ar­ranged an on­line meet­ing where we shared and dis­cussed some of the key learn­ing of the course. The par­ti­cipants were en­gaged and we are happy to an­nounce that one of the out­comes of this work­shop was the es­tab­lish­ment of a new Dun­geons & Dragons‘ group (party), where we´ll be able to ex­plore and keep ex­per­i­ment­ing with ro­le­play­ing!
