What makes someone a leader?
Back in March, Laura & I had the pleasure to take part in a great Training Course called “Level Up Your Leadership!” in Szeged, Hungary …and today we can keep finding aspects to reflect on what leadership means.
During a week’s time period, we collaborated & lived together with wonderful people from Croatia
, Cyprus
, Greece
, Hungary
, Italy
, Latvia
, North Macedonia
, Spain
, Portugal
and we ourselves represented a multi-cultural Denmark
.
We discussed what roles are important in a team apart from a leader. Through exercises we discovered how each one of us tends to take a particular role in a team, what kind of leadership styles there are and how to recognize our own leadership style. We also learned about gamification and most intriguingly about LARP(Live Action Role Playing).… a really intense week!!
One important take-away is that LARP is (sadly *internal joke*) not only about dressing up as a fantasy character for a fun experience in the woods.
It has also the potential to be used for creating environments which support individual development. You can also play a director, or even your own boss! allowing you to have a full-body experience of what it really means to have such roles.
To share our experiences, we arranged an online meeting where we shared and discussed some of the key learning of the course. The participants were engaged and we are happy to announce that one of the outcomes of this workshop was the establishment of a new Dungeons & Dragons‘ group (party), where we´ll be able to explore and keep experimenting with roleplaying!
We want to thank Zsanett Függ & Alapítvány az Elmaradott Térségek Felzárkóztatásáért for hosting
and Copenhagen Youth Network for this opportunity
